PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (July 9)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the country would experience cloudy and rainy conditions due to the intertropical convergence zone.

On Friday (July 9, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The intertropical convergence zone would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the localized thunderstorms would bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Abra, Benguet and Aurora.

The ITCZ would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms over Visayas and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands. Metro Manila and the rest of the country would have partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

The weather agency also warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible landslides and flash floods due to ITCZ.

“Maaari tayong magkaroon ng malakas na pag-ulan. Maaari itong magdulot ng mga pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa kaya pinapayuhang mag-ingat ang ating mga kababayan dito sa Visayas at Mindanao,” weather specialist Shelly Ignacio said.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the entire country would be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
