PNP Chief Eleazar Targets Memes Related To Pacquiao Corrupt Agencies Claim
PNP CHIEF TARGETS MEMES – Recently, the Philippine National Police emphasized that they would bring the people behind the “memes” related to Senator Manny Pacquiao’s “corrupt agency” list to justice.
Before leaving early to train for his fight versus Errol Spence Jr., Pacquiao presented a list of “corrupt agencies” in the Philippine government. Obviously, this caused a rift between him and President Rodrigo Duterte. However, it also spawned several memes on social media.

Apparently, the meme listed the PNP’s acquisition of body cams was included. But, when Pacquiao’s camp was asked, they denied any involvement in the social media post.
As such, Eleazar said an investigation into the matter was ordered. According to an article from Philstar, Eleazar had asked the Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) to find the identities of the people who posted the fake list.
Furthermore, he said that the PNP’s procurement of more than 2,600 body cams worth P288 million, along with other items, were all legal. Additionally, he stated that every single item was accounted for, with all purchases transparent for the public.
“We guarantee utmost transparency and public accountability in all transactions and expenditure programs entrusted by the government to the PNP”, the PNP chief said.
Meanwhile, Senator Pacquiao is still facing the adverse effects of his statements against the government. Previously, Pacquiao and the President were close, in fact, he was named President of PDP-Laban, which Duterte is the chairman of.
However, since his statements, Duterte and his camp had been on the offensive against Pacquiao. According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Pacquiao is “best in the boxing ring and probably not as good elsewhere“.
