BOY ABUNDA – Most respected host Boy Abunda has this revelation about running for senator and for the local position this coming election.
Local showbiz’s “King of Talk” boy Abunda is among the most respected personalities in the industry. He is an award-winning host with his firm and wise stand, he is being pressed to snatch a public service position. And with the next election approaching, he became honest when asked if he will ever want or there’s a possibility for him to run for senator.

On ABS-CBN, the King of Talk broken his silence and said that he’s not yet ready to run for the senate although he has already received an invitation to do it as it is such a major decision. He said, “I don’t have the tenacity, I don’t have the strength to run a national campaign. I don’t have the money. I don’t have the national political organization. It takes a national organization to run a national campaign. Kailangan mo ng logistics. I don’t have that.”
He added that he also doesn’t have that push or what he described as “apoy sa bituka” to be in the Senate. But, on the other hand, he is open for a local post may it be elected or appointed. As for the local position, he already had the urge mid of 2020 which was fueled when his home network for over two decades, the ABS-CBN, loses the chance to get a franchise renewal to continue operating.
Her sister, the incumbent congresswoman of the lone district of Eastern Samar, encouraged him to run as a congressman. The closedown of his network made him angry and emotional. The “national position is out of the question” as per him but he is not closing his doors for local positions.
But before doing such, he stressed, as per the report, the importance of being prepared for a big responsibility such as a government position.
