Minor Girl Suspected as “Akyat Bahay” Caught on Roof Shot by Neighbor
A 13-year-old minor girl shot by neighbor after she was suspected as “akyat bahay” when caught in the roof at 2 a.m. in the morning.
After being suspected of climbing a house in Barangay Samonia, Quezon, a 13-year-old girl on the roof was shot. The suspect was identified as Zacarias Sadoy, 73, a resident of the region, said to P/Maj. Roberto Valiente, chief of the PNP Quezon, while the victim was not named.
According to the Quezon Police Station’s inquiry, the suspect said that he heard footsteps on the roof of their house at 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning as they were sleeping quietly. He grabbed the revolver and went outside to fire two warning shots, assuming it was a thief.

The suspect fired a shot at the child as she stood on the roof, astonished. When the authorities arrived, they discovered the girl on the roof with a gunshot wound to the stomach and brought her to the hospital right away.
A bag with a knife and gloves thought to belong to the girl was found on the stated roof. During the PNP Quezon investigation, a bag containing only a knife and gloves was discovered in the vicinity, which was thought to belong to the girl.
The suspect allegedly victimized before the incident, therefore the fact that the thief was attacking is quite suspicious. The girl’s parents, who are also inhabitants of the aforementioned barangay, are claimed to be unaware of the cause for the victim’s presence and what she is doing there.
The young lady is currently in good health, and authorities are continuing their investigation. Meanwhile, Sadoy is already in the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Quezon, where he is expected to face charges of frustrated homicide.
