French National Wanted for Abusing Minors, Other Crimes Arrested in Antipolo
Authorities arrested a French national who was allegedly wanted for abusing minors and other crimes in their country during operation in Antipolo City.
After being arrested in Antipolo City on allegations of alleged abuse of minors and other offenses, a French national wanted in France will be deported. The suspect’s home was raided by the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) Fugitive Search Unit.
According to the report, they were seen slowly approaching the target residence in the city, then raiding when the bell of their informative rang. Pascal Didier Gillot, a 54-year-old French national, was apprehended as the store was being opened.
Agents promptly apprehended the man as he attempted to enter the store. Gillot has previously been jailed and wanted in France on charges of minor abuse and other offences, according to the Bureau of Immigration.
Gillot moved from France to Amsterdam, Thailand, and then to the Philippines, where he went into hiding in 2019. According to NBI, the request came from the subject’s French counterparts, who informed them that the subject was wanted in France for child abuse crimes.
“We immediately deployed FSU agents to conduct surveillance and casing operations. We finally located him in Antipolo City after days of stake out, “said Rendel Ryan Sy, OIC of the Bureau of Immigration – Fugitive Search Unit (FSU).
The foreigner detained in Bicutan’s immigration detention center refused to make a statement. His deportation to France is now pending.
