Lea Salonga has another milestone in her career
Broadway diva Lea Salonga has this reaction after knowing that she will receive her Walk of Fame Star in Hollywood.
Lea is one of the OPM icons who gained international fame. Being a Tony Award-winning singer-actress, she helped open doors not just for Filipinos but also for Asian artists, especially in the world of theater.
She continues to bring honor to the Philippines with her work on Broadway and in the international entertainment scene.
Just recently, based on the article in the Inquirer, Lea Salonga was officially announced as one of the 2025-2026 honorees of the global honor.
Her name will be immortalized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) made this announcement. It had the honor of nominating the Broadway diva under the Live Theatre/Performance category.
In a statement, MIFF said that it is “incredibly proud” to share that Lea has officially been selected after she was nominated.
In her Instagram Story, Lea shared a screenshot of this amazing news about her, and she shared her thoughts on this. “Just now woke up to this bit of amazing news!!! To the Manila International Filmfest, many thanks for nominating me to be part of the class of 2025-26!” she wrote in the caption of her post.
Lea fourth Filipino and the first Filipina to have a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. She joined the list with half-Filipino comedian Rob Schneider, singer Bruno Mars, and Apl.de.Ap is set to receive his star with his fellow Black Eyed Peas members.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, Lea Salonga shared a post on her Facebook page giving a warning to the public against a fake video using artificial intelligence that used her identity to promote a product.
The said video claimed that she was greatly ill and was cured by a certain product. Lea stressed that people should not believe in this.
