A few days after he expressed his plan to retire from politics, Pres. Duterte said that the idea of running for vice president is not bad at all and he still has a lot of unfinished things in the government. But, according to him, he will not run if there are a lot of people who wants to sit in the position.

Recently, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte expressed that the public shall consider him a vice presidential candidate. It sparked different reactions from the people – including criticisms.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Magdalo Party-List Representative Manuel Cabochan cited the previous statements of the President that he will resign from his position in case he failed to do the “3-6 months” promise and that he is tired of work. Cabochan stressed that the supposed “drama” must not be added more.

As for the Kabayan Party-List, the President is thirsty of power and is not contented with the alleged five (5) years of neglecting his responsibilities and putting the people in hard situations. Based on the report, the Bayan Muna party-list is also worried that the funds of the government will be used for the election campaign.

“Dapat managot si Pangulong Duterte… ang pagbagsak ng ating ekonomiya, ang maling response sa pandemya,” a Bayan Muna Party-List official said.

On the other side, Surigao del Sur 2nd District Representative Johnny Pimentel does not see anything wrong with the pursuit of the President to run for vp in the next election. According to him, there is no existing law that prohibits it.
