DOLE Says Valenzuela Factory Employer May Face Jail Time for Labor Malpractice

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said that the Valenzuela factory employer may face jail time over alleged labor malpractice.

On Thursday (July 1, 2021), Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said that Nexgreen Enterprises owner Jasper So may face jail time for allegedly committing other violations of the labor code. He may face several criminal case.

Bello said that the employer allegedly commit non-remittance of his employees’ SSS, Philhealth and Pagibig contributions, which is considered as labor violations and criminal cases. If proven guilty, the company owner could be easily convicted.

“Yung non-remittance of SSS premium, criminal case yan, pwedeng makulong ang may-ari na yan, at saka madaling ma-convict ‘yan,” Bello said.

Bello said that they would immediately initiate legal steps against the employer after getting in touch with the factory worker. He also said that inspectors of DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR) were barred from entering the factory.

 “Itong may-ari mukhang may kalokohan. Unang una noong nalaman namin yung nangyaring ‘yon, pinapunta ko ‘yung mga inspector, hindi pinapasok,” Bello added.

The inspectors would return to the factory today (July 1). DOLE would issue a compliance order against Nexgreen Enterprises if proven guilty of labor malpractices.

Earlier this week, the poor worker named Russel Mañosa field a complaint against the company for allegedly paying his two-day salary worth P1, 056 in bags of five and 10 centavo coins.

Mr. So apologized to Mañosa but Valenzuela local government unit would still file a case against the company owner. The city would also help the employee to find a new job.

  1. buti nlng dahil sa social media eh naaksyunan to,salamat kay mayor gatchalian.hindi lng nag iisa si So s mga kumpanyang walang pakialam sa employee.Marami jan,dapat kz ang DOLE ginagawa nla ang annual audit sa lahat2 ng factory, marami jan hnd sumusunod sa batas pro nagtitiis ang mga tao para lng sa katiting na sweldo.isa pa once na ireklamo mo yan sa DOLE hnd nmn ganun kabilis ang aksyon.usad pagong!kawawa ang mga manggagawa,pabalik balik lng sa DOLE.
