Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Speaks on Parents’ Stand on Possible Candidacy for President

SARA DUTERTE – The Davao City Mayor revealed the side of her mom, Elizabeth Zimmerman, on her possible presidential bid.

There are already talks about the 2022 Elections. Many Filipinos are curious on who might run for president in the next election. Some already have their political bets and only await the announcement of those that they will support.

In surveys, one of the names link to a possible presidential bid in the 2022 Election is Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. The political party of the presidential daughter, Hugpong ng Pagbabago, is also urging her to run for the top post in the government.

Mayor Sara previously expressed that she has no intentions to run for president next year. However, her party asked her to reconsider her decision and think about it. She’s given until July to decide.

Recently, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque expressed that Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte really wants her daughter to succeed him. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte reacted to this revealing the stand of her father and mother, Elizabeth Zimmerman, on her possible presidential bid.

According to the Davao City Mayor, the President has never told her to run for the top post in the government and he does not want her to do so. She shared that she has talked about it together with her parents twice and both of them were consistent in their opinion that they do not want her to run.

Based on the report, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said that everyone and everything will destroy her if she will run and if she wins for president. As for her mother, Elizabeth Zimmerman, the Davao City Mayor shared that her mom said she will miss her if she will leave Davao City.

“Baka iba ang sinasabi ni PRRD kay Sec. Roque,” the Davao City Mayor said.

As of this writing, none has yet to confirm or announce a presidential bid. The calls of certain groups and political parties become louder.
