SHARON CUNETA – Veteran actress and singer Sharon Cuneta speaks about what she can have in living in the USA and not in the Philippines.
Megastar and Kapamilya actress Sharon Cuneta reveals in a previous article that the real reason why she decided to go to the United States, her another home, is because she felt bad when the false-positive result of her COVID-19 test prompted her to let go of her character’s supportive aunt in Jo Koy’s life film.
“That’s why I was so depressed. It was false positive and seven trusted labs tested me negative. Nawalan ako ng malaking oportunidad na ’di na mababalik sa akin. Kahit gusto nila Jo Koy at director na nandoon pa rin ako, wala silang choice na ituloy ’yung movie,” she added.
Escaping to USA is her way to “lick her wounds” but during her stay there, she also attended several other auditions the reason why her stay is being extended. Her supposed role was given to Tia Carrere, the voice actress behind Nani from “Lilo and Stitch” and although it’s heart-breaking for her, she has to accept it.
And while living there, she realized one thing that she was able to experience that she can never will in the Philippines is living a “normal life”. She confessed, “Maaaring sa inyo no big deal, sa akin po, ito ang paborito ko — ‘yung nagagawa ko ‘yung lahat ng normal na bagay na tinetake niyo for granted. Sa akin, sobrang special kasi iba ang buhay namin sa Manila.”

Truly, with the Megastar status of Cuneta, she cannot avoid having the special treatment from other people. Probably, the moment she steps out, people will cram their way to her for a photo or anything and that is because she is loved by many. Her contributions in the local industry has made her the star that she is now.
