Ogie Diaz revealed this about Joey Marquez
Comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz revealed that he has “malaking utang na loob” to veteran comedian Joey Marquez because of this reason.
Ogie guested Joey in his recent vlog and after the introduction, the former revealed something about his guest. The talent manager of Liza Soberano said that his first TV appearance was made possible by the veteran comedian.
Ogie said that during the time when he interviewed Joey and his former partner Alma Moreno, that opportunity came. “Ako ay ibinilin niya kay Tito Dougs. Si Douglas Quijano ay ang namayapang manager ni Joey,” he shared.
Joey asked his late manager to include Ogie in the cast of the 90s sitcom Palibhasa Lalake and suggested that a character will be made for him. “Si Pekto ay naipanganak sa Palibhasa Lalake dahil kay Tsong Joey Marquez,” the talent manager said.
Joey said that it was not a thing of “utang na loob” but Ogie’s success was due to his talent. “Hindi utang na loob ‘yun kundi dahil talented ka,” Joey said to Ogie. Then, Joey recalled that they also did the movie ‘Bulag, Pipi, at Bingi’ which he directed. Ogie shared that Joey gave him the role of the “duling” and the latter was able to use this character on TV.
Recalling these memories, Ogie Diaz and Joey Marquez had a good laugh. Apparently, through that, they were able to establish a good friendship between them. In the vlog, they also talked about Tsong as a father to his 16 children.
Previously, Joey shared that he is thankful that his children are very close to each other even though they have different mothers. The veteran comedian said that there is no such thing as half-sister or half-brother when it comes to his children’s relationship with each other.
