Joey Marquez Death Hoax – The veteran comedian reacted to this fake news about him circulating online through this recent video.
For several times, celebrities are victimized by death hoax, especially amid the pandemic. Some netizens who deliberately spreading these kinds of lies would even use the names of mainstream media companies.
The recent celebrity victim of the death hoax is Joey. The veteran comedian, who also served as mayor of Paranaque City a few years ago, is now part of the new Kapamilya series Init Sa Magdamag. He plays the role of Miguel Salcedo. So, the news about his alleged death is obviously fabricated.
Based on the article in Pang-Masa, Malu Quintana, the partner of Joey Marquez, shared the reaction of the latter to the death hoax.
Malu shared a screenshot of a post from the Facebook Page “Viral Todays News Pilipinas”. It was stated in the caption of the post of the FB Page that the alleged news came from 24 Oras, the primetime news program of GMA Network.
“Pumanaw na si Joey Marquez sa edad na 65,” the caption of the post stated. It included an edited photo of the veteran comedian with a candle and over it these words were written: “Paalam! Joselito Perez Marquez a.k.a “Joey Marquez” 1957-2021.”
Malu reacted to this by saying “Stop fake news” in the caption of her post. She also included a short video of Joey Marquez debunking the death hoax. “I’m still kicking,” he said. He also corrected that he is not 65 years old as stated on the FB Page that spread the fake news.
Several netizens who commented on the post of Malu also condemned the spreader of the wrong information about the veteran comedian.
