In Quezon City, the local government came up with a response to workers who cannot leave their work to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The LGU launched the “QC Bakuna Nights”.

Based on the statement released by the LGU, the “QC Bakuna Nights” is for workers who can’t make it to vaccination between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. most especially those who receives daily salary. The vaccination starts at 6:00 p.m.

According to Mayor Joy Belmonte, there is no more need for workers to choose between a COVID-19 jab and their daily salary as they can get vaccinated at the time that is most convenient to them. In the Quezon City press release, it is stated that around 2,000 frontline personnel in essential sectors who have registered were set for vaccination.

More and more vaccines are arriving in the Philippines. The authorities continue to remind the public to observe the proper health protocols to fight the spread of COVID-19. Every day, there are still thousands of new cases of the disease.

Metro Manila and the provinces of Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, and Bulacan are under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) now but there are some provinces wherein the cases increased prompting for stricter community quarantine measures.
