Delivery Rider Nabbed in Checkpoint Over Illegal Drugs Found in Motorcycle

Policemen arrested a delivery rider after found illegal drugs inside his motorcycle when flagged down in a checkpoint in Valenzuela City.

A delivery rider was nabbed early this morning after he was caught with shabu at a checkpoint in Valenzuela City. Lowie Bacani, 27, of Yakal St., Brgy. Gen. T. De Leon, was identified as the culprit by Valenzuela City Police.

Bacani was apprehended on MacArthur Highway at exactly 2 a.m. When the suspect was stopped, authorities were conducting a checkpoint in front of a gas station in Brgy. Karuhatan.

While looking for documents, Shabu fell from the suspect. Two sachets of shabu were also discovered in Bacani’s motorcycle’s cabin.

Bacani was apprehended and taken into police custody right away. A violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is pending against the suspect.

Meanwhile, authorities recently seized P2 million worth of illegal plant called “Maryjane” allegedly stuffed inside cartons of dried fish in Kalinga. The illegal drugs was discovered after a stray dog carried the two containers where the illegal drugs was stuffed.
