2 Young Vendors Arrested During Oplan Sita in Nueva Ecija Over Fake Cigarettes
Authorities arrested two (2) young vendors during their “Oplan Sita” operation after they were caught possessing several fake cigarettes.
The two male vendors were apprehended after being caught with fake cigarettes during the Oplan Sita operation in this town’s Barangay Belen. Adrian Joseph, 24, and Robert Garcia, 23, both young guys from Barangay San Pascual, Talavera, Nueva Ecija, were detained.

According to P/Captain Shariel Paulino’s police chief report, two vendor suspects were apprehended while riding a tricycle without a license plate. As a result, they were stopped and the contents of the box they were carrying were taken by the police.
According to PSMS Narciso Apostol II, squad commander of Oplan Sita, the two suspects’ tricycle had 30 reams or the equivalent of 300 boxes of Two Moon Lights for P16 reams and 14 reams of Two Moon Menthol for P8,100.
Because the two men allegedly lacked a permission and other required documentation, they were apprehended by the police, who also confiscated the counterfeit cigarettes. The two suspects will be accused with violating Republic Act 8293, or the Philippine Intellectual Property Code.
