Message of Sen. Pacquiao for People Calling Mayor Sara Duterte to Run for President
PACQUIAO – Philippine Senator Manny Pacquiao gave a message for the supporters of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte who wants her to run for president.
Many Filipino people now are into talks about the upcoming 2022 Elections. Some people already have their bets in case the politicians they support would run for a certain position. Another presidential bid is set to take place next year.
Currently, there are already speculations on who might run for the top post in the government. There are also surveys regarding the possible presidential candidates in the next elections. However, none of the names that are usually in the results has yet to confirm a candidacy.
One of the usual names in the survey results is Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. Previously, the daughter of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has already expressed that she has no intentions to run for president.
But, recently, there are several events igniting the speculation that the presidential daughter may take the race to be the successor of her father. A lot of people are undeniably calling for her to run for the top position in the government.
Recently, Sen. Manny Pacquiao whose name is also included in the results of some surveys for the possible presidential candidates in the 2022 Elections spoke about the call for Mayor Sara Duterte. He gave a message for the people who are urging the Davao City Mayor to run for president.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Pacquiao told the people calling for Mayor Duterte to run for president to give others chance. He also expressed that being a Chief Executive is “anointed by God”.
“Madami gusto maging presidente pero ‘di sila pinayagan ng Panginoon maging presidente,” the boxer-turned-senator said.
There are also calls for Pres. Duterte to run for vice president in the 2022 Elections. Reportedly, the Senator’s concern about it is that it may not be good for the Chief Executive. As the chairman of the PDP-Laban, he and the President have yet to talk.
