Pet Retirement Home in Pampanga Makes Comfy Venue for Senior Animals
PET RETIREMENT HOME – A retirement home for senior animals, the Bestfriends Forever Animal Sanctuary, was built in Pampanga.
Animals’ age are different from people. For example, a dog who is living for three (3) years now is considered older than a 10 year-old human being. Unlike people who can reach 80 years old and up, most dogs’ lifespan is just within 15 to 20 years.
Sadly, some pet owners fail to give the needs of senior animals as there might be more compared to when they were younger. They might need different kinds of vitamins and they may be less playful than they were before. Many senior animals are not well taken cared of since they started to age.

In Pampanga, a pet retirement home was set for senior animals. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, it is named “Bestfriends Forever Animal Sanctuary”.
According to the report, the senior dogs from the Philippine Animal Welfare Society are brought to the pet retirement home. It aims to give the love and care that senior animals need and there are now a lot of dogs in the said retirement home.
In the retirement home for pets, the animals got access to human contact and they can freely move. They are given the right kind of care most especially the senior animals and those which are disabled.
In the University of the Philippines-Diliman, the stray dogs in the campus were given a new hope as they were trained to become emotional support dogs. The University now has its K9 unit composed of aspin dogs that were trained and they’re made familiar to the buildings inside the campus.
Another group, the Pawssion Project, is giving hope to animals with no homes. They conducted a pet adoption project that aims to help dogs and cats with no family find a “forever home”.
