Sorsogon Province Declares Suspension of Classes & Gov’t Work Due to Tropical Storm Dante

#WALANGPASOK – Several local governments in Sorsogon province have declared the suspension of classes and government works due to Tropical Storm Dante.

On Wednesday (June 2, 2021), Sorsogon division coordinator of the disaster risk reduction and management office of the Department of Education Joseph John Perez announced that the distant learning would be suspended in several areas.

Perez suspends the modular and online classes in both private and public schools over the towns of Bulan, Bulusan, Castilla, Juban, Magallanes, Matnog, Pilar and Prieto Diaz due to the inclement weather condition brought by the tropical storm.

The classes in Donsol, Sta. Magdalena and Irosin along with the distribution of learning modules have been canceled. Juban, Magallanes, Gubat and Bulan have suspended the government works except for vital services.

Bulan Mayor Romeo Gordola conducted a pre-emptive evacuation in flood-prone areas and prohibits fisherfolks to sail due to inclement weather condition. Donsol Mayor Josephine Cruz has also suspend the work in private offices.

Donsol, Sta. Magdalena, Sorsogon City, Barcelona, Bulusan, Casiguran, Castilla, and Irosin would also suspend the government offices starting today.
