After Miss Universe, will Rabiya Mateo try her fate in joining Miss World?

RABIYA MATEO – Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo open to become a crossover beauty queen after her Top 21 finish in the international pageant.

For the 11th year, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo was able to maintain the country’s streak in the semi-finals in the Miss Universe international pageant. However, she failed to enter the top 10 and as per a previous article, she asked herself “yun na yun” after months of sacrifices and shed tears.

But to go that far, being relatively considered as a newbie in the field of pageantry is something impressive. Nevertheless, she made the country proud of her as she carried our flag with grace and confidence in the competition.

Despite her failure to bring home the 5th crown, she is now being tap to do the Miss World pageant and admitted during an interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda that she is absolutely open to doing this a couple of years from now. She also recalled the moment she lost and the phrase ‘Rabiya for the World’ trending on social media. She said in jest, “I was making jokes na, ‘Hindi pa nga okay ‘yung paltos ko sa paa, gusto niyo na naman akong sumali!'”

Meanwhile, in the same interview, she confessed that two weeks after the pageant, she now felt lighter as the pressure of the competition was finally removed. She’s now happier and more relaxed.

After the pageant, she accordingly learned “enjoy the moment” and to “love myself even better now” but she couldn’t forget how tough it has been for her starting from the moment she won the Miss Universe Philippines until her international pageant stint.
