Authorities Recovered P70 Million Worth of Fake Face Shields in Parañaque City

The authorities seized P70 million worth of alleged fake face shields at a warehouse in Parañaque City during joint operation.

The National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Customs and the Philippine Coast Guard conducted a joint operation to raid the warehouse keeping alleged fake and smuggled face shields.

The joined forces of various government agencies believed that the warehouse in Parañaque City is the source of fake personal protective equipment being sold in the market. They jave recovered boxes of face shields worth P70 million.

The personnel explained that the personal protective equipment did not pass appropriate inspection. The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) may not declare the fake face shields safe for use.

The cops did not also caught the warehouse owner during the operation. The face shields have a brand of “Heng De”, which reportedly came from China. The operation has been help last Thursday (May 20, 2021).

In the other hand, the authorities seized about three tons of used surgical gloves in Tanza, Cavite. They are suspecting that the gloves were being cleaned and being resell in the market.
