Here’s what Lolit Solis said about Mario Maurer
Veteran entertainment columnist-talent manager Lolit Solis defended the side of Thai superstar Mario Maurer on issue with comedienne-singer Kakai Bautista.
To recall, in April, the name of Mario became a controversial topic in the Philippine entertainment industry after his camp sent a demand letter to Kakai prohibiting her to talk about the Thai actor in public or in interviews.
This did not sit well with the camp of the Pinay comedienne and her camp stressed that she was just stating her personal experience with Mario as she was asked about this.
Pinoy netizens and friends of Kakai defended her against the negative connotation because of what she has said about the actor. Mario received a massive amount of bashing because of this.
On the other hand, Lolit Solis wrote in her recent writeup that people should also understand the side of the Thai superstar.
“Naka usap ko si Joyce Ramirez , Salve. At ngayon ko naintindihan iyon issue ng Mario Maurer at Cacai. Well, kahit ano pa siguro sabihin, parang one sided talaga ang issue dahil nga nabigyan na agad ng finality ng public,” Manay Lolit said.
She also said that it was easy for Pinoys to take the side of the comedienne because she is a woman and that she is a Filipina. However, the columnist said that if people will only be fair, they will also see the side of Mario Maurer.
“Iba siyempre ang kultura ng star system bawat bansa, iba ang higpit ng Korea, iba rin sa Thailand. Ibang iba rin ang kultura ng stardom at publicity natin. Nakaka awa din na parang heto, nagulantang na lang si Mario Maurer na nasa gitna siya ng controversy,” Manay Lolit added.
The columnist said that it is indeed a part of being famous and she pointed out that a telco company in the Philippines got the Thai actor as one of its endorsers.
Lolit Solis also commended the answer of Mario Maurer when he was asked about his big fan Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo. For her, what the actor said showed that he is a gentleman and because of that, his issue with Kakai Bautista was covered up.
