MJ Lastimosa has this comment on the prelims performance of Miss Thailand
Videos of Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa saying that Miss Thailand Amanda Obdam copied Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray during Miss Universe 2020 preliminary competition surfaced online.
In two videos that were posted on Facebook, MJ can be heard commenting about the performance of Amanda during the swimsuit and long gown competition, based on the article in PEP.
While the Thai beauty queen was walking on the stage wearing the official swimsuit of the 69th edition of the pageant, MJ was heard saying “Ginaya niya si Catriona maglakad. Ganyan si Catriona, e!”
During the long gown competition, the former beauty queen also said, “Ay, Catriona!”. These remarks of MJ Lastimosa on Miss Thailand’s prelims performance caught the attention of many pageant fans.
On Twitter, a netizen took noticed of this comments of MJ on Amanda’s walk. She answered the netizen that she has a comment on all the pageant contestants.
Then, MJ explained why she said that Amanda was copying Catriona. “Hindi po ako nang-aaway normal naman pag-aralan mga past queens. I just can see cat on her I also watched cat live in Thailand, e. I also studied Dayana Mendoza (MissUniverse 2008) love her to death,” she said.
Several netizens also expressed amusement to that remark of MJ on Miss Thailand’s performance. However, there were those who said that comparing queens to other queens is a toxic trait.
Meanwhile, MJ Lastimosa is one of those who are vocally supporting and defending Rabiya Mateo. After the national costume competition, she even shared a confident statement from the Philippines’ bet.
