Kindness Station Opened In Lipa, Batangas To Help Those In Need

KINDNESS STATION – The Catholic Church in Lipa, Batangas opened their “Kindness Station” again.

Initially, the Kindness Station was started when Taal Volcano erupted. Since then, the project had aimed to help residents get through tough times. Now, another calamity befell the country and much-needed help was sought by many.

As such, when the St. Francis de Sales Major Seminary opened its doors on Thursday, the people needing help poured in. The Lipa Archdiocese Social Action Commission (LASAC) with the help of Caritas Manila started the Kindness Station similar to the community pantry started on Maginhawa Street in Quezon City.

Here, you could see locally produced food being given such as vegetables, fish, eggs, and barako coffee. Furthermore, LASAC called unto other churches in Batangas to start their own kindness station.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, people banded together and channeled the sprit of bayanihan through community projects aimed to help those in need. Among the most popular was the “community pantry” project.

Now, thousands of pantries can be seen across the Philippines in a bid to help those in need. Unfortunately, some have linked these projects to communist groups causing people that want to help to close their initiatives instead.
