Out of four (4) candidates for Cebu City’s north district representative, Yap finished as second next to del Mar. He ran under BARUG-PDP-Laban.
Recently, there are speculations again that Richard Yap might run in the next election. The rumored another political desire of the actor crossed the surface following a tweet of a netizen with a user handle Andrew Summer that the actor joined a community pantry in Cebu.
Community pantries are rampant nowadays amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It is where those who wanted to share what they have can donate and those who are in need can get food and goods for free to suffice their needs amid the crisis.
The camp of Richard Yap broke its silence on the speculations. Based on a report on Pep, Kate Valenzuela from KreativDen, the management of the actor, clarified that he had pictures with some people at the community pantry as per a request from those people.
The camp of the actor clarified that he attended the community pantry “not in any way political in nature” as he was just attending an invitation of a friend.
