Richard Yap shared his life story
Kapuso actor Richard Yap revealed the reason why he let his life story be featured in Mel Tiangco’s Magpakailanman.
For the episode of the Kapuso drama anthology on February 13, the life of Richard will be featured and this will also show his love story with wife Melody.
Kapuso Chinito heartthrob David Licauco will portray Richard while Shaira Diaz will play the role of his wife. Based on the article in gmanetwork.com, Richard and Melody tied the knot in a civil ceremony in 1993.
Two years after that, they had their church wedding. Although their relationship ended to marriage, they faced struggles along the way. It was because Richard Yap‘s father wanted him to marry a Chinese woman.
“We were asked if we wanted to share our story. Noong una, ayaw namin pero na-convince din kami in the end. Sabi nila kasi it might be inspiring for others to hear about it,” the actor said about sharing his life story.
He added that this might help those peopke who are going through the same phase in their lives. The actor also shared that the production team made sure that they are involved in doing this episode.
“We were very involved in the story itself and how it was going to be written. We did a lot of meetings with the writers and all that. They told us who was going to play our part,” he said.
Richard Yap also said that he is confident that Magpakailanman would give justice to his life story although they were not involved in the production itself. “We knew that we were in good hands with the writers and all the production staff,” he added.
