Lineman in Isabela Dies After Welder Turn Generator On While the He is Fixing Post
LINEMAN DIES IN ISABELA – A lineman was electrocuted to death while fixing a post after a welder allegedly turns on the generator.
A lineman from Isabela Electric Cooperative (ISELCO) 1 was electrocuted while repairing a pole in Cauayan City, Isabela, when a welder allegedly turned on the generator, based on the report of Remate.
Russel Flores, 36, a married lineman for ISELCO 1 and a resident of Dalenat, Angadanan, Isabela, was the victim. Welder Jayson Orena, 28, a young man from Tandol, Cabatuan, Isabela, was arrested.
According to the Cauayan City Police Station, the incident occurred about 9:00 a.m. in a building under construction in San Carlos, Brgy. San Fermin, Cauayan City. ISELCO reported that, as part of the investigation, they would lower the transformer to enable the power line to be laid to the pole.
However, Orea switched on the generator inside the building when the victim was in the center of the “cutout,” causing the victim to shake after being electrocuted. Flores was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead. Authorities have arrested Orea and are planning to file a criminal complaint against him.
