Family Lives Together w/ Balinsasayaw Birds On Their House in Masbate for Over 2 Decades
A certain family in Masbate is living with ‘balinsasayaw’ birds inside their home for more than two decades.
The Facebook page “ABS-CBN News” has shared the video footage of birds living inside the house of a family in Masbate for more than two decades. The video garnered various reactions from the netizens.
In the video, it can be seen that the swiftlets birds were freely roaming around inside the house. The home became like a cave and sanctuary of birds that start to visit them every 6 pm and leave the house at 5 am.
The couple Gemma and Cesar said that the birds are already living with them since 1995 at Mobo, Masbate. They are still wondering why those species preferred to dwell in their house during night time.
The family believes that the air creatures would bring them luck since “balinsasayaw” is very popular nationwide because of their edible nests, which is very expensive. Those nests were made up of their saliva.

DENR official also explained that swiftlets usually dwell in caves and dark areas, which is their natural habitat.
“‘Yung balinsasayaw kasi ang natural habitat nila ay sa caves and sa dark areas, siguro nasira yung habitat nila and naghanap ng matitirhan na sa tingin nila safe sila,” DENR said.
