PACQUIAO – Filipino boxer-turned-senator Manny Pacquiao was asked if he will run for president in the 2022 Elections.

Undeniably, in the Philippines, what usually happens is that there are already speculations on who might take on the political race even a year before the election. In the case of the voters, many individuals already have their bets in mind in cases these people will run for a position in the government.

Currently, the next national elections in the Philippines is just around a year away. Names of possible presidential candidates in the next election are already crossing the surface.

One of the popular personalities eyed to possibly run for president in the 2022 elections is Senator Manny Pacquiao. Previously, Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson claimed that the boxer-turned-senator desire to run for president.

Many people have expressed their support to Pacman in case he will run for president. Undeniably, he is loved by many people not only for making a name for the Philippines in the boxing arena but his generosity. The wealthy boxer has always been giving to the people who are in most need of help.

However, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, when asked if he will run for president in the 2022 elections, Sen. Manny Pacquiao did not give a definite response. According to him, it is every politician’s dream to become the president.

Pacquiao compared his political career to his journey and pursuit in the boxing field. Based on the report, he told reporters that when he entered boxing, he did not join the sports to become a 4 rounder or a 10 rounder but to become the world champion.

“Kahit sinong politiko kahit barangay captain lang, nangangarap ‘yan maging presidente,” the Senator said.

Meanwhile, as of now, Pacquiao is consistent that it is not the best time to discuss about the 2022 elections considering the COVID-19 pandemic now. He also stressed that presidency comes with God’s anointment and in case he would be anointed to become the president, he will put an end to the happy days of the corrupt officials.
