Sheryn Regis Pleads To Government: ‘Don’t neglect us’

Sheryn Regis shows empathy to fellow singers and the music industry

Singer Sheryn Regis pleaded to the government to also take care of the music industry and striving singers/performers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The entertainment industry is greatly affected by the pandemic also just like other industries in the Philippines. In line with this problem, Sheryn said to the government: “Don’t neglect us.”

Based on the article in Inquirer, during a recent media conference for the promotion of her new song Tulad ng Dati, Sheryn spoke on behalf of her brothers and sisters in the music industry.

“I feel bad about what’s happening. The music industry isn’t just made up of crowd-drawers like us. The ones who are really affected are those who perform in gigs in clubs and bars, or those who get hired for events. They are those who will tell you, ‘I love music. It’s the only thing I know I’m good at,’” the singer said.

She stressed that there is something to be down for those affected by the pandemic in this sector of society, now that venues for shows and performances needed to be closed. Sheryn Regis also stressed that they should also get fair treatment with her hope that this pandemic will end soon.

“This has really affected us so much, not just physically and financially, but also mentally,” she added. On her part, the singer said that she is helping her fellow singers in her own little way. She has been participating in benefit shows to help other singers and musicians.

Also, I share with them my diamonds in Kumu (the Filipino-created video sharing platform),” Sheryn Regis shared adding that she is happy to help in ways like this.
