Singer Sheryn Regis shared the reason behind the moniker given to her which is “Queen of Prepositions” and here is her reaction to this.
Indeed, Sheryn is one of the singers with a unique voice and her technique in belting high notes is remarkable. Coming from a singing competition, the singer from Cebu, was able to climb the ladder of success.
After winning second place to Erik Santos in Star For A Million in 2003, she has come a long way. Sheryn is now promoting her new single ‘Tulad ng Dati’.
She was asked about the moniker given to her. Based on the article in The Philippine Star, Sheryn Regis is being called ‘Queen of Prepositions” because of her hit song “Come On In Out Of The Rain” that obviously has a lot of prepositions.
The Cebuana singer said that some people call her Santa Sheryn or Saint Sheryn Regis. “Because of the song ‘Come On In Out of the Rain’ because of the prepositions used for the song,” she shared.
“I am not a composer but then dinirekta lang sa ‘kin ‘yung title na ‘Queen of Prepositions’ just because of the song. Kasi litong-lito sila kung ano ba’t talaga ang uunahin sa ‘Come On In Out of the Rain,” the singer said.
She added that she just recorder her version from the song originally sang by American singer Wendy Moten. When she released her own version, it topped the radio charts in the Philippines.
“Nabigyan ko naman ng justice konti ‘yung song. At mas nalaman at nakilala siya rito ng mga Pinoy,” Sheryn Regis added.
