JM de Guzman talked about his role in a new Kapamilya series

Actor JM de Guzman revealed his inspiration for his “kontrabida” role in the new Kapamilya series Init Sa Magdamag with Gerald Anderson and Yam Concepcion.

JM is indeed passionate about his multilayered character Peterson Alvarez for the romantic-drama series. His passion in portraying his role effectively even led to an accident. In a previous article, JM recalled the time when he got wounded on the forehead after an intense scene with Yam.

Based on the article in Inquirer, JM has a certain inspiration for this project. He shared that he used Lucifer Morningstar, the lead character in the US series with the same title, as his “peg” for his character in ‘Init Sa Magdamag‘.

JM de Guzman revealed that when he agreed to do the role, he asked to help build the character’s substantial backstory. “I asked if I could put pegs, like Lucifer, for example, in terms of my character’s body language,” the Kapamilya actor said.

He added that a character in ‘Kingdom’ also contributed to the peg that he wants for his character. “Once I pinned them down, I molded the character along with the creative team,” JM shared.

The actor also said that their series is not a mediocre project. With this, he said that they are doing their best to be able to deliver the story to the audience and uplift the emotions of those who are in the same situation.

I’m excited to portray characters I’ve never encountered before. When I reflect, I compare myself to the character I created. I appreciate it when the character is able to somehow teach me to be a better person and actor,” JM de Guzman shared.
