2 Men Attempt to Smuggle Illegal Drug Plant at Checkpoint in Isabela Arrested
Police manning checkpoint arrested two (2) men who attempted to smuggle illegal drug plant called “maryjane” in Santiago, Isabela.
According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 2, two men were arrested after being spotted at a quarantine checkpoint in Santiago city, Isabela, for attempting to smuggle “Maryjane”.
Based on the report, 6 marijuana bricks and 1 wrapped in tubular form Maryjane were confiscated from the passenger and driver of a trailer truck in Barangay Sinsayon. The confiscated illegal drugs weighed a total of 6 kilos, according to PDEA Region 2.

Some drug paraphernalia such as rolled aluminum foil and disposable lighter was also recovered from the suspects. The suspects also failed to show the relevant documents for the sawn lumber cargo of the trailer truck so they were also confiscated.
Complaints of violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and illegal logging are being prepared against the suspects in the custody of the Santiago City Police Office.
Meanwhile, a criminology student was arrested and charged with possession of illegal drugs called ‘shabu’ in Cotabato City. The suspect was found in possession of 11 sachets of the illicit substance worth P68,000 at his home in Barangay Aringay, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 12.
