Geneva Cruz’s Mother Died After Days of Battling COVID-19

GENEVA CRUZ’S MOTHER – Singer Geneva Cruz confirmed that her mother, Marilyn Cruz, died of COVID-19. Here’s her Instagram post.

The COVID-19 virus has taken a lot of lives across the globe already. Declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) a pandemic last year, this coronavirus disease has shaken several healthcare systems in the world.

In the Philippines, a surge in the cases of COVID-19 was recently recorded by the Department of Health (DOH). The said spike in the cases was followed by strict community quarantine measures being imposed in most parts of the country again in the pursuit to fight the spread of the disease.

Currently, the whole National Capital Region (NCR) and the provinces of Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite are under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).

Several known personalities in the Philippines contracted COVID-19. There are also those whose family members battled against the said coronavirus disease and one of them is singer Geneva Cruz.

Geneva Cruz’s mother, Marilyn Cruz, got infected with COVID-19. She was under the care of the singer’s sister who also got infected with the virus but recovered from the disease.

Sadly, Geneva Cruz’s mother died of COVID-19. The singer made the confirmation through a post. She fought the disease at home for several days before she was brought to the hospital. Her oxygen level dropped to 46 due to severe pneumonia.

According to the singer, her mother had to be intubated. She was already on her way to recovery that’s why the singer and her family could not right away comprehend the twists of the situation. On her Instagram post, the singer left a heartfelt message for her late mother:
