Dried Bricks of ‘Maryjane’ Nabbed Inside Car During Checkpoint in Kalinga

Authorities intercepted dried bricks of illegal drug plants called ‘maryjane’ in a car apprehended at checkpoint in Kalinga.

Authorities confiscated dried marijuana bricks worth up to P37.3 million at a checkpoint in Barangay Lacnog, Tabuk City, Kalinga. Authorities received information from a concerned citizen about an illicit dried plant being smuggled via Tabuk in a vehicle from Tinglayan area.

According to the report, the combined forces of Tabuk City Police Station elements, 1503 MC RMFB 15, PIU/PDEU 1st Coy KPMFC, PNP Lubuagan, RID PRO-COR, RIU14, and PDEA Kalinga set up a checkpoint right away to validate the tip and apprehend the suspects.

As a result, a suspicious car was caught meters away and turned around as soon as it noticed the checkpoint. The police were unable to apprehend the suspect because he immediately fled.

The suspect’s identity has been discovered, and police are currently investigating him. In a Mitsubishi Adventure vehicle with the license plate NBZ-7232, police discovered eight sacks containing 311 bricks of marijuana worth P37,320,000.
