Netizens recalled the time when Julia Barretto wants to play this role in ‘The World of the Married Couple’
Remember when Julia Barretto said in a past interview that she wants to play the role of “kabit” like the character in the series The World of the Married Couple?
The K-drama series became a hit in the Philippines. It was adapted from Studios’ hit psychological drama Doctor Foster. Just recently, reports surfaced that ABS-CBN will do the Philippine adaptation of the said series.
Based on the article in PEP, it was first reported that there will be a Filipino version back in January 2021. Several names have surfaced when it comes to the lead characters.
Reportedly, the role of the mistress was offered to Janine Gutierrez and Charlie Dizon but both of them said that they haven’t heard about it yet. For the role of the wife, it was said that this was first offered to drama queen Judy Ann Santos.
However, it is still not sure if she will go for the lock-in taping and so another actress is being considered for the role of the wife – Angel Aquino. The source of PEP also said that Paulo Avelino is being considered to play the character of the male lead.
In line with this news about the Philippine adaptation of The World of the Married Couple, the past statement of Julia Barretto was recalled. In an interview on Cinema One’s “PopCinema” hosted by MJ Felipe and Bianca Gonzalez, back in September 2020, she mentioned that she wants to play the role of the mistress in the series.
“‘A World of the Married Couple.’ If you guys have seen that. It’s one of the best in the world. I want do something like that. But I want to be Da Kyung, the young girl. If you’ve seen it you would know. She’s the young girl there, she’s so pretty,” she said.
