PRINCE PHILIP – The Duke of Edinburgh passed away and many are asking whether or not his grandson, Harry, will attend his funeral.

In United Kingdom, the leader of the nation is a monarch and the current monarch is Queen Elizabeth II who is serving the nation for over 60 years already. She is the longest-serving monarch.

The husband of Queen Elizabeth II is Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. The Royal Couple have four (4) children – Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales; Prince Andrew, the Duke of York; Princess Anne, the Princess Royal; and Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex.

Prince Charles is the heir of Queen Elizabeth II. His heir is his eldest son, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge. He has another son, Harry, who recently stepped out from his royal duties together with his wife, Meghan Markle.

A few days ago, Queen Elizabeth II confirmed the death of her husband, Prince Philip. He died at the age of 99 years old after almost 70 years of his life was spent on Royal duties. The death of the Duke of Edinburgh left countless hearts broken.

Many nations including the Philippines were also quick to send their sympathies and condolences to the Queen and the people of U.K. Based on a report on Business Times, amid the pandemic now, the mourners in the funeral for the Prince is limited to 30 people.

Meanwhile, the funeral of Prince Philip at 1400 GMT on Saturday, April 17 in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, west of London will be televised. Based on the report, his grandson, Harry, would come to his grandfather’s funeral as confirmed by the Palace.

Harry’s father, Prince Charles, has released a statement expressing their gratitude over touching messages of the people on the death of his father. According to him, it is those touching messages about him that will sustain them in this time of grief.

“My dear Papa was a very special person who I think above all else would have been amazed by the reaction and the touching things that have been said about him, and from that point of view we are, my family, deeply grateful for all that,” he said.
