Queen Elizabeth II’s Husband Prince Philip Dies at 99 Years Old
PRINCE PHILIP – Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II confirmed that her husband, Prince Philip, died at the age of 99 at Windsor Castle.
Quite unique compared to the government of most countries across the globe, Britain is led by a queen. Currently, Queen Elizabeth II is leading the country for over 60 years already – the longest reign in the British history.
The Queen’s husband is Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. They married in 1947 and he is one of the key figures in the British Royal family. They have four (4) children – Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales; Prince Andrew, the Duke of York; Princess Anne, the Princess Royal; and Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex.
The Duke of Edinburgh performed royal duties for almost 70 years. Queen Elizabeth was also vocal that he has been her strength in her reign. The heir of the Queen is their eldest son, Prince Charles.
Some reports claim that the Duke of Edinburg is the one closest to the staff of the Buckingham Palace with his personality. There are also reports that made him aloof towards the public. He has built a tough reputation as the husband of the Queen.
Recently, a sad update about Prince Philip crossed the surface. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Queen Elizabeth II confirmed that her husband died at the age of 99. The Buckingham Palace released a statement over his loss.
“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. Further announcements will be made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss,” the Palace stated.
