Actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith shared tips on how a celebrity should react to scandal in line with her new black comedy film General Admission.
In the said movie project, the younger sister of Anne Curtis gave life to the character of Katja, a daring dancer who experienced a wardrobe malfunction during a live performance on TV.
Inquirer asked the actress how a celebrity should react to this kind of situation. “Choose when to speak up and learn how to speak properly in order to convey your message,” Jasmine said.
The Kapuso actress also said that explaining to the public is tiresome work to do. “Calculate first whether or not it’s worth it for you to speak up. You can’t be too complacent also,” Jasmine Curtis-Smith said.
However, if one would chose to speak, the actress said that be prepared for two reactions. It is either people will accept your explanation or you will be questioned more.
“Know that it will never go away, especially now that we have social media. If you choose to keep quiet, at least it’s just one article,” she added. However, if the other way will be done, it must be done just once and in one platform only.
For her, it is also a big no-no to invite everyone as Jasmine said that it is like livestreaming your life in front of the whole world. She added that it is a good thing that there are social media platforms now where people can share their opinions.
The latest film of Jasmine Curtis-Smith will stream on iWantTFC starting April 9. Also featured in the movie is JC de Vera who played Carlito, the boyfriend of Jasmine’s character.
