Holy Thursday Prayer

Holy Thursday Prayer & Meditation of the Lord’s Last Supper

HOLY THURSDAY PRAYER – Here is a prayer for today as we, Catholics, celebrate the Holy Thursday, a commemoration of the Last Supper.

The Christians are currently celebrating the Holy Week – the commemoration of the sufferings, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Catholics firmly believe that the Son of God came down to Earth to save mankind from sins through his passion and suffering.

Parts of the Holy Week are the Holy Thursday, the Good Friday, the Black Saturday, and the Easter Sunday. Today, Holy Thursday, a lot of people are meditating and reflecting on the Last Supper or the Passover meal. It is the meal that the Son of God had prior to his arrest.

Jesus Christ raised the bread and the wine as symbols of his flesh and blood and Catholics believe that whoever eats and drinks it will have eternal life. The Son of God, with all humility, also washed the feet of his Disciples.

Holy Thursday Prayer

Oh, Son of God who came down from Heaven to save the world, forgive us from all the pains that You had to endure to free us from the bondage of sin. You washing your Apostles’ feet despite being the Son of the Most High has shown us great humility. Change our hearts that we may also possess the same humility when faced with the harshness of our own human pride. Despite how sinful we are, You have given us your flesh and blood to have eternal life. Thank You for looking at us beautifully and for showering us grace upon grace. Oh Holy Spirit, fill us to reflect on the love, goodness, humility, and purity of the Savior. Heavenly Father, we thank You for your boundless love for mankind.
