Kakai Bautista breaks silence on ‘demand letter’ from Mario Maurer’s camp

Kakai Bautista released an official statement on the issue with Mario Maurer

Comedienne-singer Kakai Bautista has finally broken her silence on the “demand letter” that was sent to her by the camp of Thai actor Mario Maurer.

Kakai and Mario had the chance to work together in the movie Suddenly It’s Magic with Erich Gonzales. A few years later, Kakai was asked in interviews regarding the closeness she had with Mario.

With this, a week ago, a demand letter coming from the camp of the Thai actor was sent to media personalities in the Philippines and to Freddie Bautista, the manager of the First Yaya actress.

The letter stated that Kakai Bautista should stop talking about Mario Maurer and the camp of the latter denies her previous claim about their closeness.

For several days, the comedienne-singer stayed silent and just shared some cryptic posts. On March 30, she has finally broken her silence and shared an official statement from her attorney.

In the two-page statement, Kakai and her legal counsel is questioning the demand letter from the “alleged authorized attorney” of the Thai actor as there was no letter head, address, and contact number written on it.

The lawyer of the Pinay celebrity also pointed out that only Filipino lawyers are allowed to practice law in the Philippines but because of the demand letter, the “alleged authorized attorney” of Mario and the talent management handling him was already committing the unauthorized practice of law.

Moreover, the legal counsel of Kakai stressed that since she has not signed any non-disclosure agreement with Mario, she is free to talk about them based on her personal experience.

The statement of Kakai Bautista also pointed out that since Mario Maurer is a public figure, it is expected that topics about him can be talked about publicly. She is also demanding the camp of the Thai actor or his “alleged authorized attorney” to stop making “malicious statements” against her.
