Kakai Bautista received a demand letter from the legal counsel of Mario Maurer
Comedienne-singer Kakai Bautista was warned by the camp of Thai actor Mario Maurer because of this reason.
In previous interviews and write-ups, Kakai has shared the story of her friendship with Mario. In 2019, she had an interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda and at that time, she said that the communication between her and the Thai actor already stopped.
However, through her words, Kakai said that they were close before and she still has communication with Mario’s brother Marco. The comedienne-singer even said that they were saying “I Love You” to each other before.
In a recent article of entertainment columnist Gorgy Rula in Pilipino Star Ngayon, they received a copy of the demand letter coming from the legal counsel of Mario Maurer.
The letter has this subject: “Demanding to Cease, Desist and Refrain from further use and reference of the name of Mario Maurer.” It was stated that it came to the knowledge of Kwaonhar Nine Nine Co. Ltd., the handler of the Thai actor, that Kakai Bautista is allegedly using Mario’s name.
“We have been informed of unauthorized use of Mario Maurer name by several events, and it has come to our attention that your talent, Catherine ‘Kakai’ Bautista is the person who continues to use the name of Mario Maurer to attach to herself without consent nor knowledge. Moreover, not only Mario Maurer name but also make the false statement in related to Mario Maurer’s manager,” the letter said that was addressed to the Artist Gallery Management of Freddie Bautista, the one managing Kakai.
The letter also denies the statements that the comedienne-singer made regarding her and the Thai actor. “By so using the name of our talent, Catherine ‘Kakai’ Bautista is improperly exploiting the name, image and reputation of Mario Maurer and his manager, and may be violating existing laws of the Republic of the Philippines and the Kingdom of Thailand,” the statement continued.
Because of this, the management of Mario Maurer wanted the Pinay celebrity to refrain from mentioning the Thai actor again and to make reference to him, directly or indirectly.
It was also stated in the letter that they are giving the camp of Kakai Bautista three days to address this issue. In addition to this, the legal counsel of Mario said that they will do legal actions if the comedienne-singer will continue mentioning the name of the Thai actor.
Rula contacted the manager of Kakai regarding the demand letter, however, Freddie Bautista said that they haven’t received it yet.
