Did Kakai Bautista really damage the career of Mario Maurer?
Sources close to Thai actor Mario Maurer claimed that his career was damaged by Pinay comedienne-singer Kakai Bautista.
Just recently, the talent management firm handling that career of Mario issued a demand letter ordering Kakai to stop “using” the actor. His camp is referring to instances that the comedienne would mention her fondest memories with him.
Mario’s camp denied his closeness with Kakai including the statement of the latter that they used to say “I love you” to each other. When the camp of the comedienne was asked about this, her manager said that they haven’t received a copy of the demand letter.
Amid this issue, Kakai shared an intriguing post on her Instagram account that appeared to be her reply to the camp of the Thai actor.
Following the demand letter which was “Demanding to Cease, Desist and Refrain from further use and reference of the name of Mario Maurer” to the comedienne-singer, an article in The Philippine Star stated that the career of the Thai actor was damaged because of Kakai Bautista.
Allegedly, being linked to Kakai affected his career negatively. Sources, through a direct message to Philstar.com, said that Mario lost “lots of projects” because he is being linked romantically to the comedienne-host. This included major endorsements that damaged the Thai actor’s career.
The sources also said that the fans of Mario Maurer in Thailand do not want the actor to be pictured with Kakai Bautista.
“We had massive inquiries in 2013-14 cancelled because of being linked to Kakai,” sources close to Mario said.
Kakai and Mario worked together in the movie Suddenly It’s Magic in 2012 featuring the latter’s tandem with Erich Gonzalez.
