Here’s the reason why Rey Valera and Randy Santiago are now on TV5.
REY VALERA – OPM hitmakers Rey Valera and Randy Santiago are now a part of a program on TV5 and here are their reasons why they left “Its Showtime”.
Tawag Ng Tanghalan of ABS-CBN noontime show “Its Showtime” is a platform where anyone can showcase their talent in singing. Some of the famous singers that we have now are products of this singing competition and among the judges who we loved from the show are Rey Valera and Randy Santiago. Both of them are icons of the music industry and have contributed songs that became a hit.

However, now that the fourth season of the competition has ended, both of them also left the show. Judges in TNT appear in rotational order and Valera is among the most in-demand “punong hurado”. In a report from PEP, they both shared that they left in good faith. They made sure to leave a clean slate before they jumped to another program of the other network.
Valera shared that he’s not exclusive to any network to which leaving ABS-CBN is not something he perceived as a betrayal and breaking his loyalty. Another factor that added to his consideration to move is the fact that some of the people he’s worked with were also there. He shared, “Hindi personal, nagiging personal because iyong attachment mo with them. Pero sa istasyon, hindi. It’s the people who you cling to.”

As for Santiago, the program on TV5 is not the only offer he received. There were others who tried to get him but getting back to hosting through the TV5’s show has greatly made an impact on his decision to accept it. Just like Valera, he finished his stint in TNT with a clean slate. Accordingly, to have someone who actually believed in him still to do the hosting is a big thing for him.
Santiago and Valera will be joining the comeback of the classic gag singing game show “Sing Galing” in TV5. Santiago will host the along with K Brosas and Donita Nose while Valera will join the line of judges with Jessa Zaragoza and Ronnie Liang.
