The actor revealed that he always wore his sunglasses to cover his deformed eyes after suffering from an injury he suffered when he was young. Santiago also shared that he suffered from a cyst on the upper part of his eye when he was young and he has undergone a surgery to remove it.

After a year, the cyst appeared again so he needs to undergo a surgery for the second time. Unfortunately, a vital part of his eyes was accidentally cut by the doctor, causing his left eye to be only half-open.
