Pres. Duterte Spoke About Fund for the Purchase of COVID-19 Vaccines
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke about the money that the Philippines borrowed from banks for the COVID-19 vaccines.
The Philippines is undeniably on a tough fight now against the COVID-19 pandemic. Amid the country’s ongoing battle against the main strain, new variants of the disease were detected. This coronavirus disease took a lot of lives already.
In PH, part of the protocols include the wearing of face masks when going outdoors and the practice of social distancing. Community quarantine measures are still up in the country now.
The whole Metro Manila is under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) now with additional measures. It followed the surge of cases in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The COVID-19 vaccination program has already started in the Philippines. The first priority are the healthcare workers who are considered as the frontliners in the fight against the disease.
The country received donated COVID-19 vaccines. Amid the ongoing vaccination program, there are questions about the money that the Philippines borrowed for the purchase of the vaccines.
Recently, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke about the money that the government borrowed for the purchase of the COVID-19 vaccines. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Chief Executive expressed that the money is still in the banks.
According to Pres. Duterte, those who sold COVID-19 vaccines to the Philippines will collect the money from the bank upon the advise of the PH government once the vaccines have been delivered.
The President said that the government has not used a single centavo as the money is in the lending banks. According to him, the COVID-19 vaccines in the country now were donated and the ones that were purchased will be delivered soon.
