According to the vice president, it is difficult to follow the government’s call for Filipinos to stay at home if they have nothing to feed their families. “Lalabas ka pa din kahit nakakatakot,” said Robredo.

She said the Philippines should emulate Malaysia’s approach where they provided six times the assistance to workers. She stressed that Malay is a good example as they still recover economy despite the savage virus cases.

“Magandang halimbawa dito ang Malaysia. Naging sobrang masama din yung cases nila when they started to reopen. But they were able to arrest the situation. Maraming ginawa to achieve this. Isa doon, 6 nang stimulus packages yung naibigay nila.” Robredo said.

It will be recalled that the government has already provided assistance to those who lost their jobs under Bayanihan 1 and 2 but many are still suffering. House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco and Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo the pushed P420 billion stimulus package under Bayanihan 3 but the Palace is sluggish with the proposal.
