PAL Bans Leisure Passengers to Travel ‘to’ and ‘from’ Metro Manila In Compliance w/ New Restriction

The Philippine Airlines prohibited the domestic leisure passengers to enter and leave Metro Manila in compliance with the new measure.

The Inter-Agency Task Force against infectious diseases (IATF) said that leisure travelers won’t be allowed to travel from March 22 to April 4, 2021. The affected travelers could convert theirs tickets to travel vouchers with 10 percent bonus, which is valid up to two years.

“As such, passengers traveling for leisure will not be allowed on PAL domestic flights to/from Manila from March 22 to April 4,” PAL said.

The airline said that travelers from domestic destinations are free to return home. The authorize individuals who have valid reason to visit a certain place should present the necessary requirements.

President Duterte approved the new measure proposing to place Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal under General Community Quarantine due to the surging cases of COVID-19 infections.

However, the authorities would allow essential workers, health workers, frontliners, individuals traveling for medical or humanitarian reasons, OFWs, people with work or business purposes in other places.

The Civil Aeronautics Board also advised the airlines to immediately inform their passengers if flight changes.
