Provincial governor Ramil Hernandez said that most locals in the province who test positive for COVID-19 still prefer to be quarantined at home rather than going to the isolation facilities, according to the Manila Bulletin.

“Yung quarantine facilities po natin sa Laguna hindi napupuno. Bakit hindi napupuno? Dahil karamihan ng nag po-positive ay gusto nila talaga ay mag home quarantine”

He highly discourage the residents to do home quarantine since it is unsafe to keep a COVID positive person in the household.

The governor also vowed to strictly implement the ban on home quarantine and urged residents to cooperate with the local government.

The governor added that nine provincial hospitals are already at the “critical stage.”

Some hospitals also cater to non-residents, or patients residing in areas near the borders of the province, Hernandez added, based on the report.
