Quarantine Facilities Almost Full, OWWA Speaks About Returning Pinoys
QUARANTINE FACILITIES – Amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines now, the isolation facilities for the returning Filipinos are almost full.
The Philippines is still on a battle amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Everyday, there are still new cases of the disease and a spike in the daily record was recently noted. More than 200 countries and territories across the globe logged cases of the said disease.
The pandemic brought a lot of changes in the country. Currently, community quarantine measures are still up and the wearing of face mask when going outdoors is already a protocol. The local government units have prepared sanctions for those who will be caught without a face mask.
Also, physical distancing is encouraged most especially in public areas. Shopping malls and other establishments require a face shield upon entry aside from a face mask.
Due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines now and the recent detection of new variants of the said coronavirus disease, the national government has decided to temporarily close its borders from foreigners.

Previously, only overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were set to be allowed for entry in PH amid the pandemic. It sparked reactions from non-OFWs abroad who want to go home to the country. The authorities made changes in the regulation allowing all Filipinos of entry.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, there will be a daily limit on the number of returning Filipinos to be allowed entry into the country. According to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the quarantine facilities are almost full now.
The authorities encourage Pinoys abroad who can still postpone their travel to the country to delay it. They are concerned about the possibility that they’ll experience inconvenience and they might be stressed by the situation in Metro Manila.
