What’s the latest update in Nadine Lustre versus Viva case?
The camp of actress-singer Nadine Lustre reveals that the Viva Artists Agency (VAA) still wants to take the 40 percent commission from her endorsement.
Nadine announced that she terminated her contract with Viva as she said that it was “oppressive”. However, the talent management company did not agree and stressed that the contract is still legal and should be followed.
In a previous article, it was said that there was an inconsistency on the part of Nadine. It is because she still managed to renew and added a few more years in her contract even though she said that it was “oppressive”.
When she terminated her contract with Viva, Nadine Lustre was the one who managed herself. However, in a recent article by entertainment columnist Gorgy Rula in Pilipino Star Ngayon, VAA is still wanting to get its 40 percent commission from the endorsement projects of the actress.
Atty. Lorna Kapunan, the legal counsel of the actress, revealed that Viva are calling the companies and brand that she endorses.
On March 17, a court hearing was held and Nadine said in an interview that she is confident regarding the arguments her camp is raising against Viva. Among the witnesses who defended Nadine are her father and her former lawyer.
Rula said in his article that the next hearing will be on March 25. On that day, Nadine Lustre will be presenting her psychiatrist as her witness. Previously, the actress revealed that she went through a depressing time and she had to seek help because of that.
As of press time, VAA has not yet released a statement regarding this matter.
